STAFFORD

DECORATIVE & FINE ARTS SOCIETY

A Member Society of NADFAS

President:  Mrs. Susan Hawley DL

Vice President:  Mrs. Mary Rose Mitchell

It is with great sadness that we report the death of our Vice President, Mary Rose Mitchell, on September 22nd whilst on holiday in Greece.  Our deepest sympathy goes out to her husband, Charles, and their family.

Mary Rose was instrumental in founding Stafford DFAS in 2002 and was our first Chairman.  It was under her inspired leadership that the Society quickly became established and developed into the success it is today.

She will always be remembered for her great charm and wonderful smile.  We have lost a very special friend and staunch supporter of our Society.  She will be very sadly missed.

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Mary Rose at 2:30pm on Tuesday October 21st at St. Michael's and St. Wulfad's Church, Stone.

Stafford DFAS is Society no. 327 and held its first meeting on 24th April 2002.  The Society aims to increase enjoyment and knowledge of the arts and to stimulate interest in the preservation of our cultural heritage.

The Society will normally meet at 2:00pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Tom Ruxton Lecture Theatre at Staffordshire University, Beaconside, Stafford.  There are no meetings in August or December.
